How to Update or Remove Your Name from the Donor Registry
At Donate Life Kentucky Trust, we believe in being transparent about your rights as a registered organ, eye, and tissue donor. Signing up to be a donor is a generous and lifesaving decision, but it’s also your decision. At any point, you have the right to update your personal information or remove yourself from the Registry.
It’s important to note: removing your name from the Kentucky Donor Registry is permanent, at this time. Only the registered donor can make this change:
How to Update or Remove Your Registration
Option 1: Update Online
- Go to RegisterMeKY.org.
- Click “Change Registration.”
- Log in using your Driver’s License Number and the Zip Code you used when you first registered.
- Once in your record, you may:
- Edit your information, or select “Not a Donor” to remove your name.
Option 2: Contact Donate Life Kentucky Staff
If you’d prefer help, our staff can update your record for you.
📧 Email: info@donatelifeky.org
📱 Text/Call: 1-502-694-3015 (during business hours)
In your message, please include:
- Your Driver’s License Number
- Your Date of Birth
- Your Full Name
With your permission, we will go into your record and click “Not a Donor” on your behalf. This permanently removes you from the Registry.
At your next license renewal, ask the staff to remove the donor heart icon from your license. Please note: driver’s license staff cannot see your Registry status, so the heart may still appear until you request its removal.
If You Registered Nationally
If you signed up on the National Donate Life Registry instead of Kentucky’s registry, visit RegisterMe.org and follow the instructions provided.
Key Takeaways
- You may update or remove your donor registration at any time.
- Removal from the Kentucky Donor Registry is permanent.
