Join Donate Life Kentucky at the Wide Open – No Fear Rodeo Honoring Wyatt Cole

Community-hosted event

We’re honored that Owen County Circuit Clerk Margaret Forsee has invited Donate Life Kentucky to participate in the Wide Open – No Fear Rodeo on July 24-25, 2026, at the Owen County Fairgrounds in Owenton.

This special event benefits the Wyatt Cole Scholarship Fund, created in memory of Wyatt Cole. On February 10, 2019, Wyatt lost his life in an automobile accident at just 20 years old. A sophomore at the University of Tennessee at Martin majoring in Agricultural Business, Wyatt was also a dedicated rodeo student-athlete whose love of the sport began in kindergarten. He lived life “Wide Open – No Fear,” and through his decision to be an organ donor, his impact continues today.

During the rodeo’s Opening Ceremony, Donate Life Kentucky will join Wyatt’s family in honoring his remarkable legacy. Our own Shannon Adkins, Donor Mom and Philanthropy Director, will share the arena with other donor families and transplant recipients as they celebrate the lasting impact of donation. Throughout the weekend, Donate Life Kentucky will also have an information display where attendees can:

  • Learn about organ, eye, and tissue donation.
  • Connect with fellow donor families, transplant recipients, and living donors.
  • Pick up Donate Life giveaways and educational materials.
  • Connect with others whose lives have been touched by donation and transplantation.

If you are a donor family, transplant recipient, living donor, volunteer, or supporter attending the rodeo, we’d love to meet you! Stop by our display, say hello, and help us honor Wyatt while sharing the lifesaving mission of donation with the community.
