Double Lung Recipient

I was diagnosed with cancer on June 5, 2024, and while chemotherapy saved my life, it quietly began damaging my lungs. By the end of treatment on September 3, breathing had become a daily battle. In December 2024, a donor and their family gave me the miracle of a double lung transplant. Their act of love is the reason I am here today—breathing deeply, healing, and watching my life continue.

Organ donation means everything to me. It is hope when you’re afraid, strength when you’re running out, and a reminder that goodness still exists in this world. I want people to know that donation doesn’t just save lives—it restores families, futures, and moments we thought we’d never get back.

That’s why joining the Kentucky Organ Donor Registry is so important. One “yes” can rewrite someone’s story the way mine was rewritten—with grace, gratitude, and the gift of more tomorrows.
